Bid Allocations
The number of bids to Nationals for a team in any division is dependent on the number of teams in that division. All bids will trickle down as specified in this year’s Qualifier Manual.

The maximum number of bids available for the 2025 Mizuno Northern Lights Qualifier can be seen below. The actual number of bids available for 2025 will depend on the total number of teams entered. This chart will be updated once the final number of teams in each division are known.

Trickle Down
“Trickle down” is the process/flow of the bid should a higher finishing team already be qualified.
If one or more teams wins a bid award position at a National Qualifier and previously earned a bid at another National Qualifier, the bid can trickle-down to the next highest finishing team provided that the team is no lower than eighth place or 50% of the field size, whichever is smaller. In the event that any team qualifies in more than one qualifier, the bid will be reallocated per the Qualifier Manual.
Trickle down also means there is the possibility of needing to play out 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th place in the tournament. This may extend your anticipated tournament end by at least one match. Penalties as listed below are still in effect. For these reasons, we do not recommend scheduling flights out of Omaha or Minneapolis until 6:30 pm.
Penalty for Rejection of Bid
There can be serious consequences for teams who reject a bid. These consequences are outlined in the Qualifier Manual.
If an Open team earns a bid or a USA/American/National team accepts a bid but does not participate in the JNC in the division in which it won the bid, that team, its coaches, its club director and the remainder of the teams in that club will be suspended from participation in all National Qualifying events for the following season.
New effective the 2020 season: Teams in 18 Open may NOT decline a bid. This is in the Qualifier Manual.
