Biography:

Brandon Robinson began coaching at Northern Lights at the beginning of the 2021 club season. He has served as the head coach for the 18-Red, 16-Black and 16-Red teams in the three seasons he has coached here.

Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Brandon found his passion for volleyball at the University of Northern Iowa working as the women’s program manager, practice player, and volunteer coach. While attending UNI, he also played for the UNI Men’s Club team and coached at Club Magma (18s) and Club Iowa Juniors (14s). Upon moving to Minnesota, he became the assistant coach at Wayzata High School and a full-time staff member at MN Select; serving as the Director of Boys Volleyball and Facilities coordinator. In 2019, Brandon helped lead Wayzata to their first state championship title. From April 2020-April 2023 he served as the 1st assistant at St. Catherine University helping lead the Wildcats to an 18-8 season record, 8-3 conference record, 3rd place conference finish, and a conference tournament semi-final berth; the best season in St. Kate’s history. Outside of Northern Lights, he most recently has head coached two NCR High Performance teams (U20 and U17) at the USAV All-Star Championships in Tulsa (2022) and Ft. Lauderdale (2023).

Brandon is capable of coaching all volleyball skills, but particularly gravitates towards 1st and 2nd contact skills: serving, passing, digging, and setting (in system and out of system setting).
