Boys Volleyball 2025

Come be part of the Northern Lights tradition!

Northern Lights Juniors is proud to expand our nationally recognized girls volleyball program to include boys.  We will offer the same great training and organization to young men this coming season.  We are a nationally recognized program in terms of training, achievements, and organization.

Northern Lights Junior Volleyball will offer both “REGIONAL” and “TRAVEL” teams this season.

Tryouts will take place on September 8. Doors open at 8:00 AM.

REGIONAL TEAMS

We will have 6 Regional teams, ages 14-18, that will participate locally with a season running from September 8 to February 2.  Cost will be $950 per player.

Includes approximately 24 practices, all events, all coaches, and the following gear:

  • 2 practice shirts
  • 2 shorts
  • 2 numbered game jersey
  • 1 player bag / backpack

 

TRAVEL TEAMS

We will have 4 Travel teams, ages 14-18, that will participate locally and nationally, with a season running from September 8 to June 30.  There will be a break for high school season from February to May, with teams resuming in June to participate in AAU Nationals in Orlando.  Cost will be $3,950 per player.

Includes approximately 34 practices, all events, all travel, all coaches, and the following gear:

  • 2 practice shirts
  • 2 shorts
  • 2 numbered game jerseys
  • 1 set warmups
  • 1 player bag / backpack

OUR FACILITY:

All practices take place in one facility – Midwest Volleyball Warehouse.  The experience of learning from other coaches and athletes becomes the true power of the Warehouse.  Our offices are located right behind the courts.  Communication with players, parents and staff is instantaneous.

 

COSTS

Costs are all inclusive for the season.  Everything is covered by the fees you pay – we have NO HIDDEN COSTS!

Below is a breakdown of what is included for both Regional and Travel teams.

  • Uniforms for players and coaches (see full listing by team type)
  • Coaching fees
  • Gym costs for all practices
  • Tournament entry fees
  • ALL TRAVEL COSTS for players, coaches, and chaperones, including all lodging and airfare!

Other clubs require parents to purchase airfare independently and to pay for their player’s hotels.  Northern Lights coordinates all travel for all of our teams.  Except for events that require parents to drive, everything is covered.  There are no additional hidden costs.

$500 is due on tryout day.  Both the tryout fee and down payment will be applied directly to player fees.  Checks are preferred for the down payment at tryouts.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

All players must pre-register for tryouts, pay the tryout fee, and attend the tryout on September 8. Doors open at 8:00 AM.

We plan to take all players who attend the tryout.  In the case the tryout becomes too large and we exceed our capacity, we will need to make cuts.

TRYOUT REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS  (Opens June 5!)

All Players must pre-register online.  Print the Tryout Registration Form and bring it with you to the tryout.  You will receive additional information and instructions by email prior to the tryout.

To Register, please do the following:

  1. Go to www.signuptoplay.com
  2. Login or create a new account (PARENTS: make sure to create a Junior Member account for your child, NOT an adult account for yourself)
  3. Click on the ‘Tryouts’ link on the left-hand side of your screen
  4. Click ‘Register for Tryout’
  5. Tryout Location:  select ‘Minnesota’
  6. Club Name:  select ‘Northern Lights Juniors’
  7. Tryout Description:  select the appropriate age division for yourself
  8. Click the ‘Save’ button
  9. Click the ‘Payment’ button and pay online
  10. When you have finished registering and paying, print out the Tryout Registration Form and bring it with you. There is no payment at the door.

The tryout process will take approximately 2 – 3 hours and will consist of:

  • Registration
  • Physical Testing
  • Skill Evaluation
  • Team Play
  • Player Selections / Gear Sizing / Forms Processing
